MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA May 12, 2026 – Tightrope Media Systems is honored to have been named an NAB Product of the Year recipient for MediaScribe Narrate, its new cloud-based service that produces audio descriptions for video coverage of public meetings and more. Winners were announced at the Las Vegas Convention Center on April 22, the final day of the 2026 NAB Show.
The NAB Show Product of the Year Awards recognize and celebrate promising and forward-looking new products featured on the show floor. With 16 categories and one Best Overall Top award, entries are judged by a panel of industry peers. Tightrope’s MediaScribe Narrate was recognized in the competitive “Audio Production, Processing and Networking” category.
Under ADA Title II and WCAG 2.1 AA rules, government agencies will soon be required to provide audio descriptions for pre-recorded video, ensuring that essential state and local government content is accessible to residents with low vision or blindness. In the past, producing audio descriptions was cost prohibitive and labor intensive. MediaScribe Narrate uses AI technology to generate these descriptions efficiently. The cost-effective service is based entirely in the cloud, so there’s no on-prem hardware required. Plus, MediaScribe Narrate is optimized for public meetings, so human review time is significantly reduced.
