New MediaScribe Real-Time Captioning and Translation Service from Tightrope Media Systems Wins Best of Show Award at NAB 2025
MediaScribe earns TV Tech's Best of Show honor for delivering real-time, multi-language accessibility to government video operations.
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, April 21, 2025 – Tightrope Media Systems received Future’s Best of Show Award, presented at the 2025 NAB Show by TV Tech, for its new MediaScribe media accessibility and transcription service. Evaluated by a panel of engineers and industry experts, Future’s Best of Show Awards are selected based on innovation, feature set, perceived value, and application in serving the industry.
MediaScribe is a hybrid service that uses a hardware interface and cloud-powered automatic speech recognition (ASR) to convert speech into text. It offers real-time text transcriptions and translations for on-premise displays, personal mobile devices, and cable channels. A simple user interface makes it easy to operate for non-technical staff, while a custom vocabulary helps avoid issues with difficult names of regional locations and local public figures.

MediaScribe currently provides real-time, in-room translations in 72 languages. Its mobile caption option allows attendees to view captions and real-time translations directly on their personal mobile devices by scanning a QR code. Closed captions can be inserted into live broadcasts by downstream systems, providing real-time broadcast translations in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, German, and Dutch.
